Application for Handicapped Permits may be obtained at the office of the City Clerk, 18 East 22nd Street, Kearney, Nebraska 68847 or you may contact City Clerk Michaelle Trembly at 308-233-3216. There are three types of handicapped parking permits: Permanent, Temporary and Vehicle. Applications are also available for download from the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles website at:

Only one person’s name can be on the application. If a husband and wife both qualify for a permit they must complete separate applications. The person’s name must be printed clearly and the date of birth must be listed. The application must be signed and dated by the applicant. If the applicant is a child or unable to sign, the guardian or individual who has power of attorney may sign the applicant’s name and then “by” their name.
Acceptable Forms of Identification:
- Valid driver’s license;
- Valid state identification card;
- Valid certified birth certificate;
- Valid passport; or
- Other valid, reliable form of identification with date of birth; or
- A combination of valid, reliable forms with name and date of birth.
